DIAGNOSIS, CLEANING, TWEEKING

BASIC SERVICE for CHROMATIC HARMONICAS ►$50.00 per hour

  • Includes (as needed) Disassembly, check all reeds and align and gap as needed, inspect the air chamber.

REED SERVICES

INDIVIDUAL REED REPLACEMENT (if necessary) ► $50.00* each individual reed for all Melodicas and Melodions,

  • Reeds which have dropped significantly are most likely cracked and require replacement.
  • Process:  Broken reed is removed, reed plate hole reamed and tapped, clearance hole is drilled in new reed, new reed is attached with O-80 screw, wind saver replaced (if applicable), tuned to match the octaves.

TUNING

SO YOUR MELODICA IS OUT OF TUNE...YOU CAN'T PLAY WITH OTHER INSTRUMENTS IN THE BAND... 

  1. I will make a chart of the tuning before disassembly.
  2. Disassemble the Melodica
  3. Tune reeds according to the chart
  4. Reassemble
  5. Update tuning chart
  6. Repeat 2,3,4 as needed until entire range of instrument is in tune according to Perfect 5ths and Octaves, and Major Triads.
  7. Final tuning will be charted.
  • This process is generally 3-4 hours, billed at $50.00 per hour.

  • DO NOT SEND MONEY IN ANY FORM WITH YOUR MELODICA
  • You will receive a PayPal invoice after work has been completed, and your melodica is ready to be shipped.
  • You may then pay online with your credit or debit card, or PayPal account.  
  • If you wish to pay by Check, or USPS M.O., be sure that these are payable ONLY to GEORGE MIKLAS
  • Your instrument will be shipped after payment is received (and checks clear).
  • 6% Sales Tax is charged on repairs which are delivered to addresses in Pennsylvania

TURN AROUND TIME

  • Due to family and employer obligations, I am unable to quote turnaround time or guarantee dates
  • Normal turnaround time is as quickly as I can . 
  • Your harmonica will be finished on a First In - First Out priority basis, according to the Post Mark.
  • You can be assured that I never work on harmonicas when I am either tired or feel ill.  
  • When you get your harmonica back, it will be Done Right!
